Booths Distribution Centre
With over six years in partnership, find out about S&S Engineering’s latest project for Booths Distribution Centre.
Calling the Northern counties of Cumbria, Lancashire, Cheshire and Yorkshire home, Booths boasts stores across the North of England, offering local and high quality produce.
The supermarket chain, founded by Edwin Henry Booth in 1847, operates from a large distribution centre in Preston, Lancashire.
For more than six years, our engineers at S&S Engineering have been working with Booths at their distribution centre, servicing all machines on site.
Currently, the S&S Engineering team is on hand at the Booths distribution centre six days a week, ensuring that the machines are functioning correctly, without fault. Whilst regular onsite checks were taking place, it came to the team’s attention that one of the crate washing machines needed replacing.
After 14 years of successful usage, the old crate machine needed to be replaced by a new system that would be able to fit, as such this was something our engineers had to be incredibly mindful of.
In total, the removal and installation of the new crate washer at Booths distribution centre took approximately 20 weeks. Our engineers kept hygiene, as well as health and safety at the forefront throughout the project.
The new crate wash machine provides a wealth of benefits for the client, reducing power consumption by 15%, making it more efficient overall, thanks to the upgraded electrics.
S&S Engineering possesses over 25 years of experience manufacturing machinery that improves the efficiency of product lines.
